During my time at AYC, I refreshed their brand identity with new collateral, menus, social media, and photography. I created print and digital collateral including, but not limited to, advertisements, event materials, magazine layout, website banners, and manuals. I ran their social media accounts and assisted with keeping the website updated. I was awarded a '5 Star Award' for stellar service after implementing all of my new design work and multitasking tight deadlines.
Advertisements
A major part of my duties at AYC consisted of creating block ads for events, which means that I was creating multiple ad sizes for both print and digital use for a single event. I enjoyed creating event ads because I had a lot of creative freedom to be able to create a captivating graphic for different demographics and themes. I am a firm believer that good design can sell anything!
As a designer, it was a fun challenge for me to push myself to consistently create unique ads. Since AYC is a yacht club, a lot of events were focused around water. I was able to create unique ads for each water event without them getting blurred together.
New Member Manual
Each new member of the club receives a New Member Manual once they join that provides details about everything they need to know. The 28-page manual consists of information regarding the website, all forms of communication, facilities, and more. The old manual was not previously designed well, so I heavily refreshed it by creating a color scheme as well as adding many more photos and graphics to fill the wasted space.
Social Media
Facebook
I was the sole leader of the private Facebook page for AYC. I created content, analyzed statistics, engaged with members, and introduced new types content. When I first started, their page was very low in engagement because they were not posting creative content, nor different types of content. I spent many days after my evaluation researching how I could improve the page's traffic with content that would stop the scroller.

After my research, I decided that an image or graphic needed to accompany every post in order to grab attention. I also started to post 2-4 times a day and schedule my posts one week to one month out in order to optimize the content I was posting. I started posting event ads, daily specials, national holiday promotions, facility/weather updates,  various types of photos, trivia, and more. The members immediately took to the various new types of content and engagement started to sky rocket from there.
Instagram
AYC decided to create an Instagram account to highlight some of the Club life. Our Instagram account was mostly filled with photos from events, around the club, and races since we couldn't share member information. However, we still were able to receive a lot of engagement because people wanted an inside look at one of the most exclusive and sought after yacht clubs in the United States.

I was in charge of creating the stories, story highlight icons, engaging with viewers, and providing my photography for social media. All of the samples photos below were taken by me and I also covered many events.

Email Blasts
My coworker and I would both send out many target emails, but for the most part I was in charge of creating and providing the graphics. I created templates for various types of email blasts, including our weekly events blast and cruising committee blasts. Our weekly events target email was our largest email blast with new event announcements, daily specials, and other ads.
